I only had the pleasure of meeting Eugene a few times, he was a nice and enjoyable man. He always had a smile on his face and was ready to make a joke. May you find calmer seas now shipmate. My prayers go out to the family during this difficult time.

It has been my honor, privilege and pleasure knowing the Prince, the name I gave Eugene from the first day I met him and the name I will always remember him by. His wit and humor were endless. His love and knowledge of history, geography, music, politics and films were boundless and infectious. He could have been, and should have been, Jeopardy’s Grand Champion! He was equal parts teacher and student, loving to share all he knew and learning all he could. He was interested and interesting. He was patient and kind; however, he had no problem “shhhhing” me when I talked to much, a memory I treasure and which makes me laugh. Thank you, Prince, for giving me my best friend in the world – Caren. Our love for her in an unbreakable bond. I know you remember what I promised you and I will never break that promise. Sleep well Sweet Prince, until we meet again at our café – teacher and student, student and teacher. I love you.
