George H. Kallas, age 94, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Devoted husband of 68 years to Pauline Kallas, nee Philopulos; Loving father to Elaine (James) Muting and Harry (Stephanie) Kallas; Beloved Papou to Stephanie (Eric) Territo, Maria (Rhys) Klovens, George Kallas, and Marina Kallas; Great-Papou to Addy, Alex, Mila, and Athena; Uncle and friend to many. George was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Helen Kallas, sister, Antoinette (Greg) Lakis, and his father and mother-in-law, Andrew and Amalia Philopulos. George was a longtime member of Ahepa Woodlawn Chapter #93 and the American Legion Post #0111.
Friends and family will gather for a visitation on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 30, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 10301 Kolmar Avenue, Oak Lawn, Illinois at 10 am, where a visitation will take place prior from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 3401 West 87th Street, Evergreen Park, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
