U.S.A.F.; Beloved husband of Nancy McCready (nee Custer); Loving father of Kevin (Michele) McCready; Kari (Michael Jr.) Devine, Colleen (Mark) Newman and Kimberly (the late David) Lee; Cherished grandfather of Mark, Skye, Conor, Mason McCready, Ashley, Michael III, Cody, Alyssa, Gabrielle Devine, Sebastian, Elana Newman, Andy and Zoe Lee; Proud great grandfather of Nathan; Kind son of the late Lorraine F. Manning; Son-in-law of the late Irvin and Katherine Custer; Dear brother of William (Dixie), Michael McCready, Barbara (the late Ted) Kiefer, Steve (Maryann) McCready, Mary Therese (William) Sullivan and the late James McCready; Brother-in-law of the late Janet Gaskey; Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; Retired member of Plumbers Local 130. A visitation for "Monk" will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. A burial will occur Monday, March 18, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery, 27034 S DIAGONAL RD, ELWOOD, Illinois 60421-9304. A prayer service will occur Monday, March 18, 2019 from 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. A mass of christian burial will occur Monday, March 18, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 3650 W. 96th St., Evergreen Park, IL 60805.

I have known Jerry and Nancy for 40 years. Our sons started kindergarten together so we met through PTA potluck dinners and progressed through family weddings. Jerry was much loved by his family and will be so missed by Nancy. Rest in peace.
