Glenda Gordon

Glenda Gordon was born September 26, 1940 in Yazoo County Mississippi to the late Sherman Blanden Sr. and Corena (Horton) Blanden. To this union twelve children were born: Walter, James D, Corena, Carrie Mae, Canary, Sherman Jr, Glenda, Ansivela, Samuel, Carter, Hattie Mae and Anzolla Blanden. Her parents and 9 siblings preceded her in death.

Glenda is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Gordon Sr whom she married on October 3, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. Throughout her marriage she was a devoted housewife who found joy in gardening, playing the lottery, and speaking and spending quality time with family and friends.

She is survived by her four children: Gene Jr, Merial, Glen and Monica Gordon, as well as 9 grandchildren: Austin, Asia (Delbert), Takara (Andre), Blake, Devonte, Armani, Dasha, Fredrick and Demetrius; also 17 great-grandchildren: Malachi, Alexis, Autumn, Kayla, Kayden, Kylee, Kyrie, Dorian, Lauryn, Layla, Ma'layah, Bryson, Hakeem, Kiarmani, Ciaro, Kamryn and Nior, also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation Friday July 25, 2025 from 10:00 until 12:00 pm at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street in Oak Lawn, IL. followed by a chapel service at 12:00 pm.
