Dearest Gloria, Your spirit tapped on my shoulder, I googled your name and...here we are!

I still have your email from when you got your little Dutch Blue Lovebird in November 2008.  I have recently made a quilt with applique bluebirds for the grandchild of my oldest friend here in Melbourne Australia!

I will meet you at the Great Quilting Bee in the sky!  Always you brought to me, via the old-fashioned art of letter-writing, the front porch of the middle America and such joy of the seasons from 1991 through to 2008.  

My condolences to the family, Gloria wrote of you all and the family gatherines you shared for Thanksgiving, Christmas, wedding anniversaries.

Gloria sat in front of me in our High School Bookkeeping class. Virginia sat beside her with Louie across from me. We had a fun time in our little corner. Gloria was fun and good natured about our teasing.
She always smiled and made people feel good.  She was a bright light for us.

I met Gloria through her sister, my best friend when I was 14 years old.  Over the years Glroia and I became friends, talking on the phone, sending emails and having fun at family events.  She was a loving and caring person to her family and friends.  I don't have a big sister and if I had to chose one Gloria would be my big sister.  I went to her and Dan's wedding and anniversary parties.  I will miss her and always keep her in my heart.  She is now with God and reunited with her Mom and Dad.  I have a prayer that I would like to share.....

O Loving Father and Savior, send your angels to carry the soul of your servant from this earth to the heavenly place of eternal and everlasting life. Let family and friends who have passed before in faith be reunited in joy with the departed. Forgive any wrongs that have been committed and welcome this beloved spirit into the warm embrace of your unending peace. Amen

I have known Gloria since I was 14 years old, her sister is my best friend.  Over the years we have become friends, talking on the phone, sending emails and attending her anniversary parties every year.  She was a very nice, loving and caring person to her family and friends she will be deeply missed.  Losing Gloria is like losing a sister and I will keep her in my memory and heart forever.  Good bye Gloria, rest in peace you are now with your Mom and Dad.

Gloria and I had many good times together.  We would call one another up and talk on the phone for hours.  Our favorite place to go was Deja Brew, have beers and chicken quesadillas.  Both of us love the hot summer days and our gardens.  My dearest friend, you will always be in my thoughts.
