

Gloria Moore Orange was born on December 12, 1947 to parents of Robert and Emma Rush Moore. She was the second of six children born. Gloria enjoyed and loved her family very much. Gloria attended University of Chicago LAB school and Wendell Phillips High school where she graduated with honors. She attended Bethel College in 1965, graduated in 1969 with a psychology degree with honors. Gloria worked for the Department of Children and Family services for 40 years until she retired in 2010.
Gloria’s favorite things to do were exercising,dancing, traveling and spending time with family members. Gloria’s life changed at the age of 43 when she was diagnosed with type two diabetes.
Gloria remained full of spirit, fighting her illness with strength and courage until she passed on February 4, 2024. Gloria will forever be known for her soft kind beautiful spirit. She was always there when you needed her.
Gloria is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert and Emma Rush Moore, sister Gearline Simpson, brothers, Robert Moore Jr., and James Moore.
She will forever be cherished by her husband Warren Orange, son Robert (Lisa) Long, grandchildren, Jaedyn & Madelyn Long, Tyson Long, nieces, Shelneka Benton, Emily Simpson, Tiera Gladney, Leeann Gladney, siblings Bernard and Valerie Moore, nephews Demond Hayes and Brydon Simpson and caregiver Juanita Primer and numerous friends.
There will be a Prepast from 10:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday February 24, 2024 at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. A Celebration of Life will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Repast to follow after the services at the Orange's residence, 9550 S. Oakley Avenue, Chicago, IL 60643.
