Helen Staskiewicz

Helen Staskiewicz, (née Tworzydlo), passed away at home on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at the age of 96. She was the beloved wife of the late Thaddeus “Ted” Staskiewicz Sr. and mother of the late Thaddeus “Ted” Staskiewicz Jr. Helen is survived by her two daughters, Diane (Fred) DiDio and Karen Staskiewicz along with nieces and nephews. She was also a great and great great-aunt. Helen is preceded in death by her brothers Joseph (Mary) Tworzydlo, Frank “Pinky” Tworzydlo and sister Sophie (Gerald) Kanne.

Helen grew up in the Back of the Yards neighborhood in Chicago, attended St. John of God grammar school and graduated from St. Augustine High School. Helen had the sweetest job in the world working with the cookies at Nabisco.

And she was lucky in love to marry the man who she knew was “a good one”. Helen was an avid gardener, enjoyed baking more than cooking and filled the house with her beautiful singing voice. She was a very kind and selfless person. Helen will be missed.
