Jack Gilbreth

He is the loving father to Nancy (Juan) Rodriguez, Julie (Marty) Rodriguez, John (Kristen) Gilbreth and Jody (Doug) Vlasak; grandfather to Danielle Rodriguez, Keith Rodriguez, Mark (Crystal) Rodriguez, Marsha Chico, Gina (Jose) De La Huerta, Kelly (Robert) Ramirez, Martin (Maribel) Rodriguez, Jonathan Gilbreth, Kylie Gilbreth, Elisabeth Vlasak and Juliana Vlasak; great-grandfather to many; cherished brother to the late Lee, Robert and Edward Gilbreth; dear uncle and loyal friend. He was preceded by his first wife Mary and is survived by his former spouse Barbara.

Jack honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean Era. He was a film distributor and owner of Gilbreth Films. Jack was an avid golfer and achieved the amazing feat of two holes-in-one. He was a lifelong White Sox fan and truly enjoyed watching every pitch of every game. Jack was a staunch Republican and a Fox News enthusiast. He also enjoyed live theatre, movies on Tuesdays, going to Dunkin' Donuts, shopping at Walmart, drinking at Petey’s, breakfast with his BFFs every Thursday and was a proud member of the Elks Lodge. To keep his mind sharp, he loved doing sudoku and crossword puzzles as well as correcting EVERYONE’S grammar.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 3:00-9:00pm with a Memorial Service and Celebration of Jack’s Life conducted at 6:30pm at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home (4727 West 103rd; Oak Lawn, IL 60453).
