James was the beloved son of the late Harold and Eileen Nesbitt; loving brother to Diane (Mike) Cotter, Jerry (Maureen) Nesbitt, Jackie (Bob) Taylor, and Sharon Stevens. Cherished uncle to Kevin (Erin) Cotter, Timothy Cotter (Rachel), Angie Wold (Charlie), Nicole Nesbitt (John), Danny Nesbitt (Ashlyn), Lauren (Brandon) Werblo, Michael Stevens, Stephen Stevens, Taylor Nesbitt (Evan), and Nicholas Stevens. He was also a loving great-uncle to Kayden, Brody, Madison, Connor, Ellie, Mia, Alyssa and Jack.
James was a friend to Marra Forman and to the many people whose lives he touched.
For more than 30 years he worked as a lineman with AT&T, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dedication and kind spirit. He took pride in his work and was someone you could count on.
Above all, James will be remembered for the kindness he showed to others, his unwavering loyalty and the love and friendship he gave so freely. He was deeply loved by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Morning Visitation at St Catherine of Alexandria will be held at St Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 10621 S. Kedvale Ave, Oak Lawn, IL on August 24, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, followed by the Mass of Chrisitan Burial at the same location from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home & Cemetery, 11333 S Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL.
