

Jean F. Turner, age 99, of Chicago, passed away on February 26, 2022. Loving mother of the late Charles (Mary) Turner and Susan (Todd) McKay; Cherished grandmother of William Kross, Mathew Kross, Danielle (fiance Patrick Wade) McKay, Joseph McKay, Suzanne (Adam) Devino, Stephanie (Brad) Paige, and Tammie (Dr. James) Meade; Beloved great-grandmother of Owen Devino, Revyn McKay, Cameron Meade, Caeden Meade, Brenden Paige, Jack Paige, Evan Paige, and Lucille Paige; Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Emogene Gunderson, along with her sister, Margaret Gunderson-Basten.
Jean is the oldest standing member of the Morgan Park Baptist Church, where her parents previously attended. She played piano for the Church, enjoying her duets with friend, Rose Stapleton, while also serving as part-time secretary for the Church. Jean continued her career managing Dr. Whitsel’s front desk for over 20 years. Another passion was teaching English through an organization called, Laubach, which took pride in the “each one teach one” concept. Amongst many other things, Jean had the most love for her family, her garden, and her Church. She will be missed by many, but never forgotten.
Visitation for Jean will be from 10 AM – 12 PM on Monday, March 7, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W 103rd, Oak Lawn, where a Funeral Service will follow at 12 PM. Interment private on Tuesday at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
