

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Genevieve, his brother Thomas, and his sister Jeannie. Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Annette, his son Michael (Jessica), and his daughters, Jennifer Scully, and Kathleen (John) Hall. He will be remembered as a loving grandfather to Joe, Jack, and Jane Hall, Julia and Olivia Scully, and Madeleine and Anna Coyne.
Joe was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, where he was a member of Little Flower parish and attended Leo High School. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, Joe was commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps, where he served in Viet Nam and rose to the rank of Captain. Joe was passionate about travelling, politics, and history, was an avid reader and a devout Catholic. Joe also found pleasure in classical music and regularly attended performances of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Visitation will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn on Monday, February 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 11th 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mokena. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
