Hearing this news absolutely broke my heart. I have so many memories with Juan and Auturo. From them banging on my bedroom window, to going to school, getting called “mammacita” as my name, and going on walks. When his family owned our local Mexican restaurant, they knew my order and his sweet momma would always say I’m going to be her daughter-in-law one day. Juan, you will be greatly missed but never forgotten. RIP ❤️

We are the same age and I always had one of these silly boys in a class each year. When the family owned “La Palmita” (spelled wrong I know) but they always knew our order when we walked in. These boys have always been good kids and my heart genuinely hurts especially for Arturo. My heart is with you all. Forever in our hearts especially from the kids of 2019 in Mcleansboro, IL

I was Juan and his brother's teacher in McLeansboro,IL. They were my students first through 4th grade. I loved those boys. They were both rowdy, but had good hearts. Juan was always respectful. I remember reading AR books with them. I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family, especially Arturo. I will never forget them.
