Judy was the devoted wife of James, her partner in life for 56 beautiful years. Their love story began long before marriage-they first met at the age of five and grew up side by side, building a bond that would last a lifetime. At just 18, Judy married Jim, and together they created a life filled with unwavering companionship, shared journeys, and countless memories.
Judy was a loving mother to her daughter Jennifer Arguello, whom she affectionately called “Jen Jenns,” and a proud grandmother to Bianca “BB” (fiancé, “that Jeremy guy” Harmening) and Milton “Milhouse, my man” Arguello. Judy’s warmth, humor, and unique nicknames were just a few of the ways she made her family feel deeply cherished.
Judy had a lifelong love for cats, always sharing her home and heart with them. Her beloved tuxedo cats, Izzy and Ozzy, were her babies-perfectly dressed companions who matched her own effortlessly cool style and were never far from her side.
Judy is also survived by her sister Joyce (Jim) Hovel and was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dorothy Dubsik.
A true bohemian at heart, Judy lived life on her own terms-free-spirited, adventurous, and full of life. She spent many years traveling the open road alongside Jim during his career as a long-haul trucker, embracing the ever-changing landscapes and the simple joy of being together. Their adventures didn’t stop there; Judy and Jim shared a love for annual trips with friends to Cabo and Costa Rica, where lifelong memories were made. While the men headed out for deep sea fishing, Judy and the ladies could be found enjoying themselves at the poolside bar, soaking up the sun and laughter.
Music was the soundtrack of Judy’s life. She loved everything from the iconic energy of The Rolling Stones to the bold spirit of Cher and the soulful voice of Amy Winehouse. She found joy in every note, every lyric, and every memory tied to a song.
Judy also found peace in the quiet beauty of the night sky. She loved watching the moon and stars, often reflecting her belief in peace, love, and rock and roll-a philosophy she carried with her every day.
Judy’s legacy is one of love and individuality. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her deep devotion to family, and her ability to live life fully and unapologetically. Judy lived a life that was, in every way, a win-and now, in her honor, we fly the W.
Visitation for Judy will take place on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm at Blake Lamb Funeral Home , 4727 W. 103rd Street in Oak Lawn.
