Judith M. Walsh of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on May 16, 2026 . She was born on May 3, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Francis and Julia Smejkal nee Coblinski. She was the beloved wife of Donald R. Walsh who preceded her in death; Loving mother of Lee Godlewski, Patricia (David) Holmberg, Donald Jr. (Maria) Walsh, and Mary (Jeremy) Dickman; Adored Nana to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Cherished sister to Francis (the late Agnes) Smejkal and Maureen Stresinshe, who preceded her in death. Fond sister-in-law to the late Agnes (Richard) Comeau and late Edward "Teddy" Jr. (Jean) Walsh; Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Judy loved cooking, gardening, and spending time quietly reading. She always helped others when called upon, and had the attitude that "the work will always be there, but the people won't be." She found a talent in crafting and could often be found at local craft shows where she would sell her wreaths, floral arrangements, and table runners.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm located at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street in Oak Lawn, IL. A morning visitation will take place on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 9:00 am also located at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, following with the funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, 8200 S. Kostner Ave., in Chicago, IL. The Interment will conclude on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 11:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums, 87th Street & S. Hamlin Ave. in Evergreen Park, IL.
