Kulla Vranas, nee Kolambaris, age 87, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Beloved wife of the late John for 31 years. Loving mother of Jim, George (Tara), Tony, and the late Steve. Cherished grandmother of John (Paige), Nicholas, John, Caroline, and Michael. Great-grandmother of Charlotte and Nora. Dear sister of the late Nitsa Houstolakis. Fond aunt of Nektarios Houstolakis, Irini Stamogiannopoulos, Dr. Parashos Lagouros, and Frank Lagouros.
Kulla spent her life caring for her family, having come here from Karystos, Greece, with her husband John to start their family over 60 years ago. She will always be remembered for the way she lived to serve her family, including her superb cooking. Beyond that, she helped thousands of brides during her life as she was a gifted formalwear seamstress. She was regularly found working and socializing with her Philoptochos’ sisters and was an active member of St. Nicholas Parish in Oak Lawn. Her quiet kindness was known to everyone. May her memory be eternal!
