Leo Maurice Barry

Born and raised in Chicago, Leo M. Barry, age 83, passed away peacefully on November 10th, 2025. Leo was the loving son of the late Leo Sr. and Virginia Barry. He was a devoted husband to the late Irene Barry for 53 years, and a proud father to Jamie and grandfather to James. He was also affectionately known as a “Guncle” to many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Leo dedicated 36 years of his life to his work as a union electrician with IBEW Local 9, a career that earned him the respect of his colleagues and community. After retiring, he moved to Southern California, where he enjoyed his golden years surrounded by the warmth of family and sunshine.

A passionate fisherman and a lifelong fan of his Chicago teams, Leo found joy in the simple things, whether it was casting a line or cheering on his beloved White Sox and Bears. His kind spirit, unwavering loyalty, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation will be held on Monday November 24th, 2025 from 10:00am until 12:00pm with a chapel funeral service to follow at Blake Lamb Funeral Home 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, interment Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery
