Leona S. Skawinski, nee Matuszak was born December 30, 1932, 89 years ago in Chicago, IL. She grew up on Carpenter Street with her father Walter and mother Sophie. She was called home to heaven to join her beloved husband of 32 years Edwin Skawinski on April 7, 2022.
They had five children. Loving mother of David (Susan) Skawinski, James Skawinski, Ellen (Donald) Lissy, Cynthia (William) McIntyre, and Diane (Thomas) Carne. Cherished grandmother of Jacqueline, Clinton, Amanda, Timothy, Nicholas, Robert, Lauren, Kevin, Jace, and Ashton. Great grandmother of Ewan, Imogen, Kincaid, Archer, Hazel, and Ogden.
She was the dear sister of the late Lorraine (Late Richard) Siepka and the late Evelyn (Late Michael) Ward Sr. She was a member of St Germaine Parish and a resident of Oak Lawn for 32 years. She will be remembered and loved for her smile and her spitfire independence.
Visitation will be held Wednesday April 13, 2022 from 10 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM at Our Lady at St. Germaine Catholic Church 9711 S. Kolin Ave., Oak Lawn. Interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Justice, IL.
