As my Dad and I sit here at my house talking, we randomly started talking about Coach Louie and my Dad said that he had to reach out to him, cause he hadn’t talked to him in a bit. He reminded me that Coach Louie played some pro ball and I looked him up online to see what team he played for and the first thing that showed up was this. My jaw dropped open and I sat here silent. My Dad said, “Don’t tell me he died.” There’s not enough space here for me to show the amount of gratitude I have for Coach Louie. I have A LOT of GREAT childhood memories from being a Palos Star football player for 8 years. I actually still have my Stars jacket over 30 years after I stopped playing.  I remember the trip to Gatlinburg like it was yesterday, the countless gassers…lol, the pool party at his house, the leg lifts with you and Todd stepping on our stomachs, the day we got our very own field, the jokes, the laughs, the tears, the banquets at the Lexington House, etc. I have so many great memories from the years playing as a Palos Star and I will NEVER forget Coach Louie. Thanks for everything! You were an amazing Coach who truly loved the game of football and instilling that passion in young boys! I’m a better man because I met you Coach! I’m sorry for the loss Coach Todd, Vanessa, and Breanne. Yer Dad was an amazing man and Coach! My family and I are truly blessed to know him. On behalf of myself, my sister, my Mom, and my Dad, we truly are sorry for the loss of your Dad. Once again, thanks for everything Coach Louie…go Stars!!!

I was overweight for youth football by junior high school and not making weight  and Coach Lou always found a way for me to be around the team and stay active he even steered me towards wrestling. He taught me everything I know to be a lineman even showed me how to lift weights in his home gym. He was big on family, a huge heart, and was an amazing coach.

Coach Lou was my first football coach. He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. Quick story I wanted to play LB coach Lou Said nah run the ball and if don’t like it you can play LB. Fast forward I won a state championship as a RB. Glad you got your wings Coach.

To the Trench Family, I’m Deeply Sorry for your loss, Louie was a special kind of Person and will never be Forgotten. There’s a few times in life when a great Person comes into your life and Louie was one of them for me, I met the Trench Family at the StreetNats in Springfield in 1983, I felt like I’ve known them forever rite away, I knew who Louie was because of his Rep as a painter, but did not know him Personally, I’m so glad I got together with Louie  because we spent a lot of time together after Lou painted my Camaro that won at all the ISCA cars shows with the Trench Family. I won a Championship in 1984 with a Louie Trench  PaintJob that’s still going Strong 41 years later. Thanks for Everything you’ve done for me Louie and May God Rest Your Soul 🙏🙏🙏

Our deepest condolences. We have only met Coach Lou, a handful of times this year as we are new to the stars family. With those handful of times, He really made our start to our new football journey very comfortable and made our a son confident he could do this. I could only imagine the kind of person he was.
