Maria Concepción Valadez, age 68, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 with family by her side. Maria was born December 20, 1952 in Torreon, Coahuila Mexico to Carlos and Maria de Patrocinio Ortiz Perez. Maria is survived by her husband Jorge Valadez and her four children: Jorge Valadez Jr. (Maria), Jaime Valadez (Alicia), Ricardo Valadez and Claudia Cantu (Mauricio): 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many dear relatives and friends.
Maria was immensely proud of her family, leaving behind countless beautiful memories. Maria loved to display her love to people. She was a dedicated mother first, treasuring her children and embracing every moment she could with them. She especially loved her role as a host when it came to the holidays. Thanksgiving was her favorite but Christmas was one that we all personally enjoyed because her smile would light up the room as we put the Christmas tree together. She enjoyed Mother’s day as well. She would sing away to her heart's content with our favorite mariachi band. Music touched her soul deeply. She loved to shop but was also very generous even when she could not afford to be. She always found a way to make those around her smile and her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.
You came from humble beginnings, moving away at a young age to provide a better life for your family. As time passed, you fought many illnesses, but your spirit could never be broken. You were a fighter until the end, but God called on you now. You are no longer suffering, instead, you are resting in peace with your mother, our grandmother, whom you adored. Today we all mourn you, but we know you will be smiling down upon us from heaven. You were loving and caring to all of us throughout your life, and we will never be able to replace the void you have left in all our hearts.
Mom your work here is done. God has called to take you home and made you an offer you cannot refuse, for an appointment from which you will not return. You will finally be reunited with our family and friends in heaven whom you have not seen in some time. We love you mom. You did a great job with us and we are all proud of you. We will live our life as you lived yours, as a living example of one of your favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32 "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as in Christ, God forgave you."
Rest in peace Mom. We will always remember you and miss you.
