

Mary H. Anton (nee Oboikovitz) age 96, of Chicago. Beloved wife of the late Theodore A. Anton. Loving mother of Sandie Blaschak, Pamela Parrish, (deceased) Gwen Anton, (deceased) and Christine Flood (Thomas). Cherished grandmother of Aimee, Ashley, Sarah, Kathrine, Dylan, Alex, and Jack Patrick. Great-Grandmother of Joshua and Benjamin Miletich. Beloved sister of Agnes O’Brien, James, Lawrence, and Ken Oboikovitz. Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Angeline Oboikovitz, her sisters Adele, Rose, and Eileen and her brothers John and William.
Mary was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served in San Francisco during World War II. Together with her dear friend Mickey Kane, Mary helped to found the Sertoma Special Children’s Center in Chicago which brought a community together and provided years of activities and joy for children and adults with disabilities. In recognition of her years of volunteer service, Mary became the first woman to be honored as “Man of the Year” by the Sertoma organization.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn, IL.
