OBITUARY
Mary Yaras
September 13, 1918 – January 15, 2021
Our loving mother, Mary passed away peacefully in her home with her son by her side on January 15, 2021. She went to heaven in her own time and her own way at the age of 102.
Mary was born in Herbert Pennsylvania, a small coal mining town on Sept 13, 1918 to Anna and Karol Rafacz. She followed her sister Frances to Chicago as a young woman and made it her home. Mary loved gardening, nature and had a lovely singing voice.
She is predeceased by her son Philip and survived by her son Gilbert Yaras and wife Jane; her daughter Carol Lowell and husband Ed and their families.
A funeral service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at St. Linus Church, Oak Lawn at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 23, 2021.
