MaryEllen Noonan

Visitation is set for June 6, from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Mary, Martha, and Lazarus Roman Catholic Church (formerly known as St. Margaret of Scotland). Interment to follow at St. Casimir Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her father William Noonan and is survived by her mother Marion (nee Krik ), her son John Miles; grandson Luke Miles; her brothers; Steven Noonan, Michael (Tammy) Noonan; sister Karen (Sean) Crotty; nieces/nephews; Dan Noonan, Amanda Noonan, Jamie Noonan, Nick Noonan, Katie Noonan, Bill (Autumn) Noonan, Erin Noonan, Keelin (Matthew) Roberts, Aidan Crotty, Declan Crotty, Liam Crotty.

She was born June 3, 1958 at LCOM Hospital. She attended St. Margaret of Scotland School and graduated with the class of 1972. She started her work ethic at a young age by writing for the Beverly Review in the Teen Tattler column. Later she worked at Whimpy’s in the Evergreen Plaza. She was a proud Mendel and St. Ignatius cheerleader. She graduated class of 1976 from Mother McAuley. Throughout high school she participated in many plays as a dancer.

She worked many years in the Dominick’s deli department and enjoyed interacting with the regular customers. She attended EIU and graduated from Chicago State with a Criminal Justice degree. She worked as a juvenile/adult probation officer before becoming a Chicago Police officer in 1991.

She enjoyed real estate adventures and rehabbing houses. She loved sunny days which is why she owned a home in Miller Beach, IN and a home in Arizona for many years.

One of her biggest loves was growing up in Beverly where she developed lifelong friendships. She enjoyed Southside Irish parade parties, participating in Ridge Runs, breast cancer walks and Beverly Home Tours. On many occasions she enjoyed taking her nieces/nephews to Ken’s on Western for a steak dinner after a Toys R Us trip to pick out a birthday gift.

Mary Ellen’s ability to story tell and make people laugh and feel as if they were the only person in the room will be greatly missed.
