Michael J. Grages

Michael Joseph "Mickey" Grages, of Crestwood, Illinois passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the age of 36 years old. He died peacefully while surrounded by his family. Michael was born to Theresa Neubauer and George Grages on April 5, 1986. Michael was predeceased by his father and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Michael was the beloved father of Mason Grages (11) and a father figure for many years to McKayla Andersen (15). He will be forever cherished and remembered by his mother, Theresa Neubauer; sisters, Jennifer (Brittany) Grages, Gina (Jeremy) Grossman, and Jillian (Jon) Grages; nieces Ava and Olivia; several aunts and uncles; many cousins and friends; and last but not least, his cherished best friends Katie (Baudo) Mazalin, Michelle Amato and Phil Babich.

Michael recently became a Line Operator at CPI Card Group in Littleton, Colorado. He attended Nathan Hale Middle School, Alan B. Shepard High School, where he played Football and Wrestled, followed by continued education at DeVry University. Michael enjoyed life to the fullest and was always known to be the life of the party. He never met a stranger and was well known for his boisterous voice, contagious laugh, crazy antics, far-fetched stories, "smooth" dance moves, and was a self-proclaimed karaoke superstar. His hobbies included poker, fishing, bowling and playing cornhole at family gatherings.

In his last selfless act here on earth, Michael donated all of his organs to save the lives of 8 people, and up to 75 lives through tissue donation. The family members, friends and communities of those who receive his donated organs or tissue will be forever impacted by their improved quality of life, made possible through these selfless gifts.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453 from 3 - 8 pm with prayer service at 6pm.
