She retired from Midwest Control Corporation as an engraver for fabrication and manufacturing. But her real passion was crafts and she mastered them all from sewing wedding gowns and veils, to making jewelry, needlepoint, ceramics and more. Her absolute favorite hobby was crocheting and designing her own patterns which she sold online. She always kept a craft room full of supplies so she could create whatever came to her mind. In her younger years she taught classes in these crafts for friends and neighbors. Among her favorite jobs were the fabric department at Zayre’s Department store and later, working for Michaels Craft Store so she could surround herself in a creative environment. Her crafty and creative qualities have been passed on to her children and grandchildren.
