Nancy Carol Pommering

December 25, 1945September 3, 2020

Nancy was born in Chicago to Alice and Robert Pommering. She graduated from Harper High School, then worked at the Standard Oil Co. and Gohagan Travel Co. until her retirement in 2009. She assisted both of her parents and Aunt Marj in their senior years. Nan was a faithful member of Presbyterian churches all her life. Nan loved her pet cats and dogs, singing in the church choir, travel, the White Sox, and driving her yellow Mustang. She is survived by her sister Susan and brother-in-law Wes Reynolds; niece Jessica and her husband Chris Wood and their sons Andrew and Elliot; cousins Dennis and Jill Damrow, and Gayle and Randy Heinemann, and their families; and Aunt Marjorie Damrow. Sincere thanks to Helpful Hearts home caregivers Tina, Wendy, and Kathleen. They made Nan’s final years safe and pleasant. Nancy would be pleased by gifts in her memory to your favorite pet-related charity. Services for Nancy will take place on Friday, September 11, at 11 AM. Nancy was a very special, loving, and giving person. She always helped others in a quiet manner and was devoted to our church. I always enjoyed hearing her quiet laughter/chuckle. For years we sat next to each other in the church choir. She so enjoyed being in the choir and keeping track of the music. She also enjoyed participating in the Choir's Soup and Sandwich at Christmastime and the Bazaar. Nancy worked at the Bazaar's Bakery table where she always baked sometime delicious. If anything needed to be done, Nancy was there! Nancy enjoyed Branson and her timeshare. One of Nancy's interests/knowledge was the history of the Civil War. Nancy loved God.
