Nemencia Ilagan Jonson

Mencie was born on October 31, 1936, in Lian, Batangas, Philippines to Ambrosio and Candida Jonson. She was the second-born of five siblings. Eleanor Jonson (Bonoan), Virgilio Jonson, Asuncion Jonson (Ilarde), and the late Ambrosio Jr. Jonson.

Mencie graduated from The National Teachers College, in Manila, Philippinesin 1963. After graduating, she unselfishly served her community as a teacher at Lian Elementary before migrating to Chicago, IL in 1980.

Although Mencie did not have children of her own, she is survived and missed by her nieces and nephews as well as their children.

Visitation is Friday, March 25, 2022 from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM at Saint Linus Catholic Church, 10300 Lawler Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Saint Linus Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th Street, Alsip, IL 60803.
