

Paul Gerard Reynolds passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Beloved husband to Lizzie of 23 years and devoted father to Eamonn and Ronan. Proud pup- paw to Saoirse and Cloonina. Cherished son and son-in-law of John and Nora Reynolds, Martha and Barney O’Reilly, and Eamonn and Norah O’Connor. Fond brother and brother-in-law to Shane Reynolds, Theresa (Carlos) Munoz, Matie (Alex) Facchin, Eamonn O’Connor, Mary Elizabeth O’Connor, Sean O’Connor, and Maureen (Tony) Chiavola. A proud uncle to Olivia, Joey, and Nelly Munoz and Caitlin, Colleen, AJ, and Paige Chiavola. A loving grandson to Paddy Finn. Dearest nephew to Mary (late husband, Francis) Churm, Martin (Therese) Reynolds, Noreen (John) Irwin, Kathleen (Mike) O’Brien, Anne (Jimmy) Cummins, Sheila (Patrick) Culkin, Larry (Geraldine) Reynolds, Pat (Sharon) Reynolds, and Carmel (Kuldeep) Korotania, Martina (Martin) Redmond, Ronan (Lisa) Finn, the late Padraic Finn and a host of cousins who shared in his joyful spirit. He will be greatly missed by many dear friends.
Paul was born in Athenry, Co. Galway on June 30, 1979. He immigrated to Chicago in 2001, where he met the love of his life and started his family. Paul was a proud member of IUOE Local 399 for 20 years, during which he served as the chief engineer at the Gray Hotel in his final years. Paul was known for his strong will, determination, love, and support for his family, friends, and community. Paul was an active member of the Chicago Gaelic Athletic Association. He played for the Limerick Hurling Club and was a founding member of the Michael Cusack Hurling Club. Paul’s passion was coaching; you could always find him on a field, regardless of the day. He coached for the St. Jarlath’s Youth GAA Club and Cassell Soccer. His most significant achievement was coaching his son, Eamonn, for the last 8 years. Their soccer team won many championships, and their Gaelic Football team is traveling to Ireland this summer to play in the Feile tournament. Paul was an avid supporter of the Liverpool Football Club, and their motto, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” became his rallying cry during his cancer journey. Paul is leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience that will forever inspire us.
A visitation for Paul will be held on Monday, May 26, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Morning prayers will be held at the funeral home before following in procession to St. Catherine of Alexandria 10621 S. Kedvale Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453 for a Mass of Christian Burial which will begin at 10:00am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803.
