Richard A. Kowalczyk

Born on July 27 1959, Rick was the son of Joseph and Helen Kowalczyk. He attended Gage Park High School and went on to work briefly at Central Steel followed by a career as a decorator with Local 17. In his younger years he played an integral role in the success of JK Tavern on 51st St in Chicago.

Rick was known for his love of his family and friends, Budweiser and Miller lite and the Chicago Bears, Bulls, White Sox and Blackhawks. He was a great friend, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his loving sister Barbara Reardon and sister in law Lori Kowalczyk. He is preceded in death by his brother Joseph Kowalczyk. He was loved dearly by his nieces and nephew Marie Rodriguez, Dan Reardon, Kadie (Darrel) Penrod and Paula (Jeremy) Keene. He was also fortunate to have the adoration of his great niece and nephews Amahlia Rodriguez, Jaxon Penrod and Brody and Cameron Keene.

A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
