Robert Oliver Lenz

Robert O. Lenz, age 91, resident of Oak Lawn, IL passed away on January 12, 2021.

Beloved son of the late Otto H., Sr. and the late Ursula (nee Bartels) Lenz; brother of Kenneth, Sr. (Mary Lou) Lenz and the late Otto H. Lenz, Jr.

“Uncle Boo” was also the proud uncle of Kenneth, Jr. (Debby) Lenz, Michael (Natalie) Lenz, David (Joanne) Lenz, Cheryl (Joe) Onesto, Daniel (Colleen) Lenz and Kevin (Michiko) Lenz.

Also survived by his devoted Godson, John Levickas, who was always around to assist him when and where necessary.

Preceded in death by his special friends Mary Hrapowicz, and her son John Hrapowicz.

His good nature and humor will be greatly missed by all. He was always available to assist anyone in need or make a joke to lighten the mood.

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, losing some of his hearing from incoming shelling while in a foxhole in Korea.

After the Korean War, he became one of the youngest Commanders of the Green Oak American Legion Post 757 in Oak Lawn, Illinois at 28 years of age.
