Robert “Bobby” Nicholson, 67, died peacefully at Rainbow Hospice ARK after a lengthy illness. Bobby was a resident of Chalet Living and Rehab Facility where he appreciated the care and companionship of nursing staff and residents, especially roommate and good friend Tramone Howard. Bobby was a loyal, feisty and witty character who enjoyed the Green Bay Packers - to the chagrin of his friends and family members who were Chicago Bears fans. He had an uncanny ability to recall every phone number, address, and sports statistic going all the way back to childhood. While Bobby faced struggles and personal challenges throughout his life, he persevered and loved his large family, numerous relatives and, most of all, his late beloved parents.
Bobby was the 4th in a family of 9 children of the late Thomas and Norinne (Dolehide) Nicholson. Siblings include Thomas Nicholson, Timothy Nicholson, the late James Nicholson, Marie (John) Spence, Helen (Dr. Anthony) Kwan, John (April) Nicholson, Eileen (Robert) Kusner, and Liz (Gerry) Nicholson Sullivan. And numerous nieces and one nephew.
A visitation and celebration of Bobby’s life will be held on Saturday, September 12 from 2-4pm at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Oak Lawn followed by a family gathering at Krapil’s Patio in Worth. Private Interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bobby’s name to: Concussion and CTE Foundation: 361 Newbury Street, 5th floor, Boston MA 02115
