When we were just teenagers, Roger convinced my mother to let me go camping by getting on his knees and telling her how many of his relatives were priests. Still not sure if he made it all up, but he charmed her into letting me go. We managed to keep in touch, with occasional dinners and lunches, but on every Holiday, I (along with many other friends, I am sure) got an early morning text... !!!Happy Mothers Day!!!---Merry Christmas🎄---!!!!Happy New Year!!!!---. And our texts always ended with 'Dinner soon, OK?' So glad I saw him this summer. I will miss him so much. No one could make me laugh 'til I cried like Roger. My deepest condolences to his family. I can't imagine your pain.

I met Roger for the first time in 1992. I was working at an alternative school at the time, and a fellow worker came in with this awesome haircut. I complimented her on it and asked who did her hair. Of course, it was Roger! I have been going to him ever since. But much like all of his other clients, we became good friends. I would share happy as well as sad events with him and he could always make bad situations better. Roger also had some of the best stories. The way he could relate a story would always make me laugh. He is one of the most sincere, kind and genuine individuals I have ever met. My life has been truly enriched for having known him and having been able to call him my friend. Roger, you will be truly missed!

All of Roger's friends are heartbroken over his sudden death. There will never be anyone else like him - funny, witty, generous, who will tell you exactly what he thinks! I was lucky enough to meet him through my good friend, Nancy Ciciora. He started doing my hair maybe 10 years ago, but over that time, as I'm sure with other customers, we became great friends. When he heard about my retirement party 4 years ago, he invited himself, and when my friend, who also lives on Roger's block, was having one of her impromptu breakfasts in her backyard, Roger crashed that little party - all the while making more friends along the way.! She had him on the list for her after Christmas breakfast! My family all feel so bad because even though they may have only met him once, they've heard me speak of him so often that they feel like they know him. Cheers to you, Roger, until we meet again! My condolences to Bobby and Ron and all the family.
