

Ronald Joseph Tomlinson born to Joseph and Rosalie Tomlinson on January 17, 1944: a baby with blue eyes and a curl in his hair. Upon the death of his father, Ron stepped into the role of a father figure for his younger brother, Gary Tomlinson. After graduation from Blue Island High School, Ron entered the armed forces, enlisting into the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Great Falls, Montana. Ron served his country for four years from 1969-1973.
Ron met Sharon (nee Hanson) in May of 1973 and married on October 12, 1974. Together they raised two boys: Richard and Steven. Ron and Sharon had a life well lived and celebrated over 51 years of marriage.
Ron worked at Corn Products for over 30 years, covering various shifts and departments. He was even in a promotional video for the company. After Corn Products, he worked for Schold Machinery, doing what he loved: welding. He retired from Schold.
Ron passed peacefully in his home attended by Sharon on August 24,2026.
Ron is preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ron is survived by loving wife, Sharon; brother, Gary; sons Richard (Amysara) and Steven (Melissa); a combined 7 grandchildren: Abigail, Grace, and Alice (Richard); Alexandra, Ceaser, Jocelyn, and Joy (Steven).
Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, a role model for his boys, and an older brother who shared stories with his brother. We will always love you and you will daily be in our thoughts.
Visitation will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, US, on August 29, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Chapel Service will take place at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL on August 29, 2026 at 12:00 pm. Interment Private
