

Sheila Mary Crotty nee Moran. Born October 2, 1941. Passed away June 22, 2026. Survived by her husband Patrick, children Patrick and Sheila Ann (Rick) Crotty-Kagan, grandchildren Sharron and Lia Kagan and Alastair and Fergus Crotty, as well as her brothers Tom Moran and Mike (Helen) Moran, her Sisters in Law Genevieve Moran, Carol Moran, Sister Rita Crotty and Patricia McIntyre.She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Rosemary (Burke), her brothers Edward and Patrick Moran, and sister in laws Elizabeth Moran, Anna Mae Crotty, Margaret (Edward) Hanafin, Phyllis (Jack) Bath, James (Nancy) Crotty. She leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Maggie.
Sheila graduated from Our Lady of Loretta High School, then joined the order of the Carmelite Sisters of Avila for 17 years, under the name Sister Thomas. When she decided to leave the order, she came home to the South Side of Chicago, where she met her husband.
Sheila was an LPN her whole career, and she was known both in the nursing community and in her personal life as someone you could always count on and someone who acted deeply for everyone.
Sheila was often described as a firecracker and a spitfire. Her sense of humor was only eclipsed by her kindness. She will be missed by her friends in SPRED, where she served many years, she will also be missed by so many friends - she made friends everywhere she went. Sheila was a devout Catholic and a devout a Chicago Bears and White Sox fan. The best way to honor her memory is to live your life to the fullest, and to love people unconditionally, like she did.
A Visitation will be held Thursday June 25th from 4-8pm at Blake Lamb Funeral Home. Morning prayers will begin at 9:30am Friday June 26th at Blake Lamb Funeral Home following with a Catholic Mass of Christian Burial at 11am located at St Catherine of Alexandria Parish, 10621 S Kedvale Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
