Mary, John and Joe, I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I was very fond of her, one of my favorite cousins. She was sweet, funny, loving and a lot of fun to be around. She will be sorely missed by many.

Hold your memories close to your hearts. She will be with you always. Love to all.

Virginia was such an amazing math teacher and truly empathic woman, who loved her family deeply. I had the privilege of working with Virginia at Holy Ghost School, and she was the moderator for our History Fair for both of my children as well as being one of their middle school teachers. She most especially helped me and my daughter, Beth, through a very difficult time in our lives with compassion and understanding. I can recall her telling me that year, If I pass, it will be okay, because I have missed John for far too long. Words I carry with me all these many years. Thank you, Virgie. You were truly so special to so many.

The photos capture Virgie's spirit, cheerful, helpful, smiling, fun to be around. When I collected stories of my relatives, Virgie shared her story with me. Her story (written in 1999) can be read here:

Mrs. Kowalski taught my daughter, Peggy Lanigan, at Holy Ghost School; Peggy remembers her fondly. Virginia translated, for me, my great-grandfather's immigration papers (lots of personal information, discharge from the Prussian Army, marital status, etc.) They were in Polish and she wrote the whole paper in English for me. I was so grateful! Marilyn Lanigan

My heart aches...She was a great cousin - fun to be with - Just thinking of her laughing, and she was almost ALWAYS laughing or making US laugh...We(my twin sister, Joan & I) grew up with her. Attended St John of God - Polish Catholic School...Many fond memories flood my mind...She will live FOREVER in our hearts...May fond memories of Happy times ease the pain of loss...
