For my beloved Great Aunt

Like a sunflower turning to follow the sun,
She looked for the good in each and everyone.
Our Aunt Tee-Tee was rooted in holy ground,
The brightest and finest light all around.
The heart of the neighborhood, steady and bright,
Guiding our steps with a calm, gentle light.
A soft word of discipline, firm but so kind,
The truest supporter that anyone could find.
An angel on earth, and everyone's choice,
We still feel her warmth and we still hear her voice.
I am forever grateful for the love that she gave,
For her care, her support, and the lessons I'll save.
As the only aunt on my father's side I had the pleasure to know,
Her beautiful light is a gift I will carry wherever I go.

Thinking of Cousin Zelda with very fond memories over the years.  I know her absence will be a great loss to everyone, especially LaVonne and her children.  She was our oldest link to the family for the Boynton family members here in Louisiana.   During some of her trips here we were able to visit some of the Stratton family members in Raceland, Louisiana, where her father was born.  Zelda provided a source of special joy  and we will miss her.  With Love , Cousin Patricia

Hello family, my heart is saddened to hear of my dearly loving Red Hat sister.  I have fun memories of our times together.  Eating, traveling, just having fun  with her and sister in law, Gwendolyn.  Z was so much fun with her unexpected WHISTLE!!   Love and will see you Zelda again to continue enjoying our girl friend fun.

My sincere condolences to LaVonne, Brandon,  Devon and Courtney and the family of Zelda Stratton.  I have fond memories of Zelda when she was in her teens or early twenties and she sometimes watched my sisters (Barbara, Johnnie Mae, Patricia and myself) at home when we lived in the rear home behind her parents at 4900 Princeton.  My family moved to Louisiana but we always maintained our connection. I always enjoyed our conversations over the years. She even came down to visit us on several occasions.I admired her endless drive and community involvement in different organizations. She even inspired me to do the same .
