

He was born in Kagoshima, Japan in 1931 and immigrated to the United States in 1956. He eventually settled in North San Diego County and started Muroya Growers with his wife, Toshiko, growing palm trees before retiring. An avid gardener, he also enjoyed growing dragonfruit, pineapples, and other fruits and vegetables in his backyard.
He is survived by his wife, Toshiko; daughter, Carole and son-in-law, Mark Baratti; son, Walter and daughter-in-law, Lisa; grandson, Alex Baratti; and granddaughter, Olivia Muroya.
Interment will be private at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside, CA.
