Alvia Mae “Mazie” Dial, 84, of Vista, CA passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at her home. Mazie was born July 27, 1929, in Port Lavaca, Texas, to the late Leila and Albert McMullen and was one of nine brothers and sisters. She had a son, Don, with her first husband, Don Seely and then went on to marry Gene Dial with whom she had a daughter named Donna. She lived in Westchester, CA for 25 years with her husband Gene and family. She was an executive assistant at Aerospace for 24 years before retiring and moving down to Vista, CA with her husband, where she resided for over 25 years. Above all, Mazie loved being around her family and spending time at her daughter’s house in Oceanside. She also enjoyed gardening, spending time with friends, reading and playing on her Monday and Wednesday bunko teams. She will always be loved and remembered for her generosity, unselfish ways and amazing sense of humor.

Mazie is survived by two children; Donna Morsaint, of Oceanside, CA and Don Seely of Felton, CA. She is also survived by her two granddaughters Harmony and Melody, and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and long-time companion Rusty Decker, of Vista. The viewing will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Eternal Hills in Oceanside with a service immediately following at 10 a.m. We will be sharing stories and celebrating Mazie following the service at Donna’s house, 2020 Fire Mountain Dr, Oceanside, CA 92054.

Missing you so much Granny. You taught me so much, I just can't imagine my life without you. I know you are looking down on us, but it's just not the same not being able to hear your voice or give you a big hug. We are carrying on your memory with little Mazie... I can only hope she will be the selfless, caring amazing human being that you were to us.
