Anna Mae Durbin

Anna M. Durbin, 83, passed away peacefully on 3-22-25 in Oceanside, California,where she had lived for the majority of her life. Anna was born in Akron, Ohio on October 21, 1941. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Josephine Whipkey, her sister, and many beloved cats, including Shadow, Georgee,and Joee.

She is survived by her older brother and many nieces, nephews and friends, including her very special friend Ines.

Anna trained as an RN and worked at various children’s hospitals. Eventually she became a teacher’s aide at Libby Elementary School in Oceanside. She was a member and active participant for many years at King of Kings Lutheran Church.

Anna was an intelligent, energetic, beautiful and witty woman. She was an excellent tour guide, loved to plan trips, and was always the designated driver.She loved her family and friends, and was generous and kind.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Service honoring Anna at King of Kings Lutheran Church on April 12th at 12:00 noon.King of Kings Lutheran Church, 2993 MacDonald Street, Oceanside, California 92054.
