Born in 1932 in New York, Barbara carried with her a quiet strength, creativity, and warmth that shaped every chapter of her life. She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, Frank Edmead, and together they built a life filled with adventure, including time spent living in Puerto Rico before eventually settling in Oceanside, California.
Barbara dedicated much of her professional life to nurturing young minds as a school teacher at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside. She had a natural gift for working with children, offering patience, encouragement, and kindness that left a lasting impact on countless students and families.
Beyond the classroom, Barbara expressed her creativity as a talented potter. Her artistic spirit was reflected in the pieces she created—each one thoughtful, unique, and crafted with care. Her work, like her life, blended beauty with purpose.
She was the loving mother of Kim and Mark, and a cherished grandmother known affectionately as “Nana.” Her grandchildren were a source of immense pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Barbara will be remembered for her gentle wisdom, her creative soul, and the deep love she gave to her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the lessons she shared, and the memories that will be carried forward by those who knew and loved her.
She is reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Frank.
