Barsegh Everekyan

Barsegh was a bright light. He loved life. He was a young man with many passions and interests. He was passionate about history and politics, and his ambition was to do good in this world. Barsegh was kind and cared genuinely about people. His memory will live forever in our hearts. He loved his family very much, and made sure they knew. One of his favorite quotes was from Marcus Aurelius, "Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one."

Services will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Chapel 1999 El Camino Real in Oceanside, Ca 92054 on Wednesday, September 23rd and Thursday, September 24th, 2020 from 5:00pm-7:00pm

I met Barsegh back in high school. We were good acquaintances, as he was always so polite when passing me around campus. We began to become friends when he wanted to collaborate for a project on CHSTV. He would always offer conversations of substance, filled with knowledge and humor. He treated EVERYBODY he met with great respect and dignity. Barsegh was a great man, and an exception human being.

I remember Barsegh as being someone with an unusual ability to ignore his negative critics and remain strong in his character. It's a trait that I have hardly seen to such an extent as Barsegh had. Probably the last time I had actually talked to him was around 8 years ago when we were both on the academic league team. I really enjoyed having him on the team. Definitely came in handy with his knowledge of history and his confidence with the answers. I also remember hanging out with him in 5th grade and occasionally in middle school. We had some good laughs. He stands out in my memory for his strong character. Of all the people I have met over the years since then he still stands out for this singular trait.

My cousin, my brother, genius, saint. Barsegh and I had more to talk about but time didn’t give us a chance.

An exemplary person, someone we could all learn from, his death a true tragedy.

Memories never to be forgotten, may he rest in peace.

I remember this day as if it was yesterday. You and your family came to visit, and we went to a nearby park. We talked about so many things. I’ll never forget those moments. George and I are so sorry about Barsegh. We will miss him.

I will forever remember the little boy who I loved watching grow up. I would go over the house and read Barsegh books. It was never enough. He would give me the book, repeatedly, saying “again, again!” Always wanting more.. wanting to learn..
You will live on in us forever. You will guide and protect your family, always by their side. 🙏🏻♥️ We will eternally miss you.

I was fortunate to have become friends with Barsegh during time spent as a CHS Speech and Debate judge. I will never forget our back and forth banter, jokes, speech and debate critiques, laughter and discussions about life and the world. He was a beautiful soul and a ray of sunshine. I loved that kid. Blessings to his family and friends.
