My Handsome Hero, My Sailor Boy, The love of my life for over 50 years.  My companion and protector, the loving father of our three sons. I am forever proud of his loyalty to family and country.

Uncle Bert,
A patriot. A rock. The patriarch of the Spencer Clan. I am proud and grateful to have known him. He will be missed dearly. My love to you Aunt Jacquie, Danny, Jeff, Doug, Krista, Debra, Brian and Mike

 Uncle Bert was such a strong figure in my life. His physical stature alone, set him apart. I could see how people were intimidated by him, but not me. He was always so kind and always had a wise-crack that was appropriate in any situation. I remember as a young kid being fascinated by his tattoos. And during my wild phase, I used to think drinking Jack Daniels was cool because he drank it too. In my book, Uncle Bert was a great man and he will have a lasting impact in my life.

My heart goes out to his family. We lost a great man, but today he dances in heaven. Jokes on us, we have to endure the brokenness of this world. Those that have passed have been set free. I love you Uncle Bert, I love you all. You mean so much to me. 

Until we meet again in paradise...I love you.

Burt will be missed.  I personally will miss my favorite tattoo of all time.  Burt had a tattoo of a profile of a mouse next to his belly button and when he would sit down it would disappear into the "mouse hole".  Good times!
