Betta Hazel Hagler died on July 19, 2018 at her home in Carlsbad, CA. She was 95 years old. She was born on December 17, 1922 in Long Beach, CA. During WWII, Betta worked in the shipyards as one of the original Rosie the Riveters. On July 12, 1945, she married Jack Homer Hagler, and together they had 1 daughter, Sandra. Betta was a Marine Corps wife and mother to Sandra throughout Jack’s military career. After settling in sunny Southern California, Betta worked for the Oceanside School district. After retiring, Betta traveled the world with her husband and friends. Betta loved her family. She will be greatly missed. Betta is survived by her daughter Sandra Odendhal, her granddaughters Julie Cyr and Jennifer Douglas, her nephew Merve Fishback, and seven great-grandchildren. Betta was predeceased by her husband Jack and sister, Bernice. A memorial service will be held at the Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, CA on August 10, 2018 at 1:00pm. There will be a reception to follow at Coast City Church in Oceanside, CA.
