She graduated from Dominican Catholic High School in New York and began working at Sperry Instruments, where she met the love of her life, Albert Frolander. They married on August 1, 1953, and raised five children: Al Jr., John, Eric, Coral, and Peter during their 43 years of marriage.
After moving to California in 1960 Cora and her husband owned and operated 10 restaurants for over 40 years. They included well known dinner houses, The Quails Inn, The Paddock, Fireside Inn and The Grove. Cora was well known for beautifully decorating the restaurants for the holidays.
She was deeply involved in her community. She founded the Carlsbad Girls Club and Girls Bobby Sox League. and supported organizations such as Tunnels to Towers, Global Conservation Force and TERI.
She was a wonderful mother to her five children, loving grandmother to 20, great-grandmother to over 40 and counting. Cora's boundless love and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Cora was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Frolander in 1996, her daughter Coral in 2022, her sister Marcella and parents, John and Charlotte.
A Viewing will be held Feb 24, 4–8 p.m. at Eternal Hills Mortuary Oceanside. Services and Mass Feb 25 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church Carlsbad, followed by a Luncheon and Remembrance at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Parish Hall next door.
