David was a Marine through and through, serving his country for 32 years with honor, courage, and an unshakable sense of duty. He retired as a Master Sergeant, but anyone who knew him would tell you — he never really stopped being a Marine. When the uniform came off, the discipline, loyalty, and leadership stayed.
After hanging up his military boots, David put on a badge and continued his life of service with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, where he served another 20 years. He was the kind of man you could count on in a tight spot — steady, fair, and fearless.
But duty wasn’t the only thing that drove David. He had a wild streak for adventure that couldn’t be tamed. A licensed pilot and skydiver, he ran a local drop zone for years, introducing others to the thrill of the open sky. When he wasn’t in the air, he was underwater, working as a scuba diving instructor, exploring the deep with the same curiosity he brought to everything in life.
He also had a softer side — a woodworker, a guitar player, and a man who believed in learning something new every day. He earned his Master’s degree and built a life filled with craftsmanship, music, and purpose.
David’s proudest accomplishment, though, was his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Darian, along with five children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren who will carry on his strength, his humor, and his love for adventure.
David Teague lived like he flew — steady hands, clear eyes, and a fearless heart. He was a man of few words and strong convictions, and he left this world the same way he lived in it: with honor.
Fair winds and blue skies, Marine. You’ve earned your rest.
Following the service, a Reception will take place at the same venue from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
