In 1986 she retired and moved to Vista to be closer to her daughter and family.
The grandkids all married and she started welcoming all of her great granddaughters: Nathalie, Breanne, Lucy, Lila, Ariana, Juliana, Victoria, Isabel and Kezia. They were her pride and joy and she loved every minute she spent with them.
She was a hugger, and each of us got the biggest hug every time you would see her.
Her husband Enrico passed away on June 11, 2011. At this time, she moved in with Maria and Mario and she lived with them for the last 12 years of her life.
She was extremely resilient. No matter what hardships life sent her, she always had a smile, a positive attitude and a kind response. She enjoyed cooking, eating pasta, reading God’s word and about the Virgin Mary. She loved to spend time with her family. She also enjoyed knitting scarves and blankets for everyone the last few years of her life. She loved talking on the phone with her nephew, nieces as well as her sister-in-law in Boston and her sister in Argentina. She loved to hear from her grandsons, granddaughter and great-granddaughters on the phone as well, and she especially enjoyed facetiming them.
She was a gentle soul, kind, humble, a peacemaker and lived her life being a true example of what it is to love, forgive and put others first.
On March 12, 2023, she fell. This unfortunately caused her health to deteriorate in various ways, and we all realized that she was not going to be able to recover this time.
God called her home on April 14, 2023. She died peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones.
