

Born on May 18, 1970 in Austin, Texas to William Duane Dixon and Linda Gayle Pugh who resided in Fort Worth.
As a resident of San Diego for over 20 years, Devin has been a positive and motivating fixture to all who knew him. As a former professional athlete, business owner and the son of a strong Texas family, Devin enjoyed sharing stories of lessons learned and memories of his life’s journey. Devin will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, devoted friend, and most importantly as a husband and the father of four beautiful children.
He attended Arizona State University, where he played baseball and was eventually drafted by the Texas Rangers. Devin would not have the opportunity to play professional baseball; however, as he was hit by a drunk driver which sidelined his professional baseball career. Devin’s determined inclination would not allow him to be defeated, as such, he began a long journey of perseverance and diligence. This eventually led to a professional body building career where he and his first wife Rolanda Brill competed successfully at the highest levels while owning a personal training studio in Oceanside, California, One On One Fitness & Training and raising their daughter Trinity.
Devin and Shawn met in January of 2011 and were married on May 24, 2011. While residing in Carlsbad, Devin and Shawn would have two more children, Miles and Kai who are the youngest of the Dixon children. Devin was a sports enthusiast, yogi, reader and writer and became the best “stay at home dad” in 2012; dedicating his life to his wife and children. Devin shared his love for gratitude and appreciation with all who knew him and was known for his infectious positivity and willingness to help anyone who called upon him. A force within his community, Devin will be greatly missed.
Devin was preceded in death by his father, Duane, and his mother, Linda Gayle. He is survived by his wife Shawn, his four children, Trevor, Trinity, Miles, and Kai, his sister Lori and her husband Lynn Walker, and several cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Family and friends will be honoring Devin with a burial at sea aboard the Ohana on July 26, 2020. Memories posted to Devin’s obituary on this site will be included in a memorial book for his family.
