

Doris Marie Flum, 85, of Oceanside, California, passed away at home, and went to be with the Lord in her awaited heavenly home, and reunited with her beloved husband on October 27th, 2012. We thank you Mom for living a Christian life, and teaching us about our own eternal salvation. The best gift as a parent you can give your children. Thank you for loving us all, we will miss you and until we meet again in heaven, we say “Goodnight to you Dear Mother, not Goodbye. We’ll see you in the morning.”
She was born February 25, 1927, in Bristol, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Agnus A. Gross. She was the oldest sibling of Arthur Sturts. On August 31, 1951, she married Frank Headman Flum, who preceded her in death in 2009. They had first moved to Oceanside in 1959 from Bristol, Pennsylvania having been stationed at Camp Pendleton and lived throughout their remaining life as Oceanside residents.
She graduated from Palomar College, San Marcos Ca. 1981. Throughout her life she served as the President of the Oceanside Republicans Women’s Club, President of the Elks Emblem Club, and for years volunteered at the Oceanside Service Men’s Center. She was a warrior for the Lord, and her earthly gift and love of life were contained within the Scriptures, serving others, teaching, encouraging, contributing to the needs of others, giving generously, leadership, showing concern to others in need, the message of eternal salvation, wisdom, discernment, the message of knowledge and faith. Mother never knew a stranger, and loved talking to everyone she’d met.
She is survived by her Daughters, Joyce and husband Al of Detroit MI, Leslie Ann and husband Mike, and Ruthie. Eleven Grandchildren, Andrew, Erin, Shannon, MaryAnne, Andrea, Caron, Ryan, Eric, Jacqueline, Linda and Samantha. Sixteen Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren, Sister-In-Law/Brother-in-Law, Ruth and Martin Healey, and Nephew Marty Healey and Wife Karen of New Jersey, and her “Angel-Caregiver,” Dione. Proceeded in death by her son, Theodore Samsel.
Her final resting place will at Eternal Hills Cemetery, Oceanside, Ca. and to join her late husband, the Father of her daughters. There will be a private grave site service with family and close friends Wed. October 31th at 1:45 PM.
