

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Lou Philp, 83, of California, who passed away on January 25, 2025. Dorothy was born on June 6, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa, and spent the majority of her life in California.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of Bruce Philp and a devoted mother to her sons David Philp and Eric Philp. She was a loved sister to Janie and Ona May. She was also a cherished grandmother to Vanessa Swartwood, Brandon Philp, Brittiney Philp, and Blane Philp, and a proud great-grandmother to Keira Swartwood, Jason Swartwood, Jade Newby, Jordon Smith, Joshua Smith, Jazmin Smith, Janessa Smith, and Penelope Philp.
Dorothy had a fulfilling career as a banker, where she was known for her dedication and attention to detail. Outside of her professional life, she was a loving and caring presence to her family and friends, who will deeply miss her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Mortuary and Crematory located at 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, CA 92054. A funeral service will be held the following day, Wednesday, February 13, 2025, at 9:30 AM, at the same location.
