My family and I were deeply saddened to hear of the loss of my former partner and colleague, Dr. John Bennett. My deepest condolences to his family for their loss.
John was such a character and we shared many laughs working together at Cassidy MG and later Optumcare.  He was always generous in sharing his clinical experiences from the many years of work at Cassidy MG. He used to ask me esoteric medical school type questions, some of which I had forgotten the answer, but he had not.
Dr. Bennett was a dedicated physician who cared deeply about his patients and the people with whom he worked.  He will be greatly missed.

For more than 25 years, John was a wonderful business partner and friend.   We attended C-sections together and countless Cassidy Medical Group board meetings.  John cared deeply about his patients, hospital nurses, his office staff and his colleagues.  He was compassionate, skilled and generous.  I cherish our laughs, conversations and friendship.   I feel so fortunate to have spent nearly my entire career working with Dr. John Bennett.

I worked with Dr. John Bennett at Tri City Labor and Delivery starting in 1989.  He was very loved by his patients.  I worked nights and he was always available to come evaluate a patient in labor.  He always treated me with kindness and respect.  I always felt that he truly loved delivering babies.  We would many times call Dr. Bennett to come in for a delivery and you could hear the back door open and you just knew it was Dr. Bennett.  Those were good times.  I'm not sure when he retired but it was most likely near the time I did in 2019.

John Bennett was as compassionate, empathetic and caring person as I have ever known. I had the honor and privilege of calling him a good friend for over 40 years. Infectious sense of humor and loved good jokes, playing gags and laughing about it.  HIs intellect was amazing and if anyone measured his IQ it was probably at the genius level. What stood out most about John was how much he cared for people, his family, his patients, his friends. He had a heart of gold and gave much more than he received. John set an example for all on how to treat and care for people and that is his legacy and if everyone would adopt John's appraoch the world would be a much better place. Well done John, a life well lived. You will be missed but never forgotten.

After football practice in 1965, John and I would stop every night at McDonalds for a hamburger, fries, and coke. 35 cents.  RIP, crazy man

John was a valued member of the Class of 1966 Galesburg High School, Galesburg, Illinois. We send our condolences to his family and friends. He will be remembered with affection, and will be greatly missed.

Dr. Bennett, you surely will be missed . I learned so much working with you , thank you for "Always" willing and wanting to teach Me/Us  ladies at the office, you Always loved explaining everything to the "max" and there was "never" a dull moment , working with you  was Always like being at an Amazement park .  I will miss you rushing in from a delivery or surgery , trying to hurry and finish your lunch 
" Yogurt and raisins" ( still one of my favorite ways to eat my 
yogurt ) calling out for me "HONEY,  come help me get logged on to this computer "  .. I would come over to you , your hair a mess, yogurt all over your face and jacket ; Combing your hair with my fingers , wiping your face and re-button your jacket ..  Thank you for asking me if I am ok ; checking on me when I was frustrated ; making me laugh and making an impact to my life working in OB-GYN . 
You will never be forgotten , rest in peace .  <3

Tom, I am sorry for your loss, my prayers is with the family. He is going to be missed .
He was great fun to work with. I continue using a bennett maneuver  during my c-sections. In addition , john I still order my democratic lab test for my preeclampsia patients.

My daughter and I were his patients in the early 90's.   We both liked him very much. He was well-spoken and very funny.  My condolences.

I am so saddened by the passing of my good friend John Bennett.  I burst into tears. What a magnificent human being John was. He was smart to the ridiculous, well read and thoughtful. But John’s wit was what set him apart; king of the one liners! On countless occasions, he made me double over in laughter. I miss him.

John and I were friends for 62 years and I could fill this page describing all the ways he impacted my life. My marriage, my home, my career and my world view are all intimately connected to John. He was funny, smart, loyal, full of life and possessed of boundless ideas. I miss him terribly but will always be grateful for our friendship. Rest in peace dear friend.

Tom, your  brother was an amazing physician and my very good  friend! He was the chief of OB at tri city when I started there as a labor and delivery RN ! My heart goes out to you and his children , and other family members!   He lived life well and so many laughs we shared  over the years!!! All the staff on duty would say “ here comes the Dr Bennett click” he had a certain way he walked and his shoes made a distinguished sound coming down the hallway -  and speaking of distinguished! Best dressed ever!!!!  A wonderful doc who truly loved his patients and he will be missed by many!
