Dwight Leroy Thompson

Dwight Leroy Thompson, 51 years old, tragically passed away on December 19, 2024. Born May 5, 1973 in Oceanside, CA, Dwight was raised in his hometown, San Marcos, CA, by his parents, Opal Jean and Tom Thompson Jr.

Dwight was a 1991 graduate from San Marcos High School. He went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Kelcey-Jenney College, and he served in the U.S. Army from 1994-1995. He was an avid sports enthusiast, known as a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Dwight was especially adored by children, and he will be remembered most for his giving nature and playful spirit.

Dwight was preceded in death by his father, Tom Thompson Jr. and his uncle, John Thompson.

Dwight is survived by his children, Brianna (Matthew) Savage, Marcus Thompson, and Alyssa Thompson; his mother, Opal Jean Thompson; his biological mother, Carolyn Lee; his siblings, Linda Hampton, Adrienne (Frank Contreras) Thompson-Contreras, John Christopher (Ruthie Hyslop) Fox, Darlene Murphy, Tiffany (Dewayne Dotson) Booker-Dotson, and Tasha Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be held Friday April 18, 2025 2:00pm at Eternal Hills Memorial Park 1999 El Camino Real Oceanside CA 92054
